What are you reading this summer? As the beach season comes to a close there is still time to fit in a good book. Here are some of Amver's favorites.
- Pirate Hunter-The True Story of Captain Kidd, by Richard Zacks. A fascinating book highlighting the life and times of Captain Kidd. While non-fiction, it reads like an adventure novel.
- Sailing Into The Abyss-A True Story of Extreme Heroism on the High Seas, by William R. Benedetto. An incredible story about the SS Badger State and its ill fated journey from the United States to Vietnam in 1969. A heroic high seas adventure with the mention of Amver on page 164!
- Burning Cold-The Cruise Ship Princendam and the Greatest Sea Rescue of All Time, by H. Paul Jeffers. The incredible minute by minute account of the 1980 fire and evacuation of the cruise ship Princendam in the Gulf of Alaska. Another Amver favorite with a mention on page 35.

A favorite of mine also a true story – the ditching of a Navy P-3 Orion in the Bering Sea, October 28, 1978.
Adak - The Rescue of Alfa Foxtrot 586 – by Andrew Jampoler – Amver mention page 110.
Mahalo Doug! We'll have to add that to our list.
