According to a report by the Maritime Bulletin the Amver participating freighter Vasiliy Golovnin rescued 8 seafarers from the Russian general cargo vessel Star which reported taking on water in the Japan Sea near Vladivostok July 7, 2012.The Russian flagged Vasiliy Golovin, managed by Far-Eastern Shipping Company, enrolled in the Amver system on March 5, 2002 and has earned 3 participation awards.
The Star was safely towed by a salvage tug and repairs are underway.
